Convly is an independent reference for artificial intelligence models and the hardware that runs them. We exist to answer the practical questions buyers, builders and researchers actually ask: which model should I use, can my GPU run it, what will it cost, and how do today’s systems really compare?
What we do
Three things, all built on real data:
- A structured database of 30+ AI models with verified specifications, live API pricing, and local-hardware (VRAM) requirements.
- Free, no-signup tools and calculators — for VRAM, API cost, and the self-host-versus-API decision.
- Original, transparent research — including our 2026 AI Price-Performance Index and our open-versus-closed cost study.
Our methodology
We are a data-first publication, and we hold ourselves to a clear standard:
- Verified specifications. Model details — parameters, context window, license, modality — are taken from primary sources (the developers’ own releases and documentation) and updated as the models change.
- Live, checkable pricing. API prices are sourced from official providers and aggregators, and stated per million tokens so they can be compared like for like.
- Transparent studies. Every original analysis we publish states its method, its assumptions and its sources, so any figure can be reproduced or challenged.
- We correct mistakes. Where we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Accuracy matters more than being first.
What makes us different
Most AI coverage is either hype or press-release reprinting. We take the opposite approach — structured data over adjectives, side-by-side comparisons over marketing claims, and original numbers over received wisdom. Our content is also available in seven languages, because the questions we answer are global.
