What is Seedance 2.5?
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance’s AI video model, launched on 31 July 2026. It generates a clip of up to 30 seconds with sound in a single run and accepts up to 50 multimodal references in one request — up to 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips — and it can edit specific timestamps or characters inside a generated video (Dreamina, TechNode).
Consumers use it through Dreamina (rolling out to subscribers in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America) and, in China, through Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro; an API on Volcano Engine was announced as expected. The only public price is Dreamina’s: about $0.097 per second of 720p video on the annual Advanced plan. There is no published API rate yet, so it is not in the API cost calculator.
