The Best AI for Marketing in 2026: 8 Picks for Copy, Design, Video and Ads

  • For copy, ChatGPT is the all-rounder because it also makes images. Claude suits long-form copy and brand voice, but makes no images.
  • Canva turns copy into on-brand posts and ad creatives; even its free plan includes up to 20 AI uses a month.
  • CapCut covers short vertical video, and Adobe’s own Firefly models make ad images Adobe says are safe for commercial use (its partner models carry no such promise).
  • Google Pomelli builds a brand kit and posts from your website, at no charge for now.
  • Meta and Google build their AI into Ads Manager and Google Ads. Their performance figures are their own claims.

Marketing used to mean juggling a copywriter, a designer, a video editor and an ads specialist. Today, AI tools can draft each of those jobs, and most have a free plan. This guide picks the best AI for marketing by job: copy, design, short video, images, a brand kit, social ads, Search ads, and email. Prices and features come from vendor pages or reputable reporting, as of 22 October 2026. Small shops should also see our guide to AI marketing tools for small business.

1. ChatGPT or Claude: best for marketing copy

OpenAI’s pricing page says ChatGPT Free gives unlimited text chats with GPT-6 (within abuse guardrails), plus image creation, voice, deep research and memory. That image creation makes it the all-rounder: you can draft a caption and a matching ad image in one chat. Go costs $8 per month in the US (prices vary by country) for higher limits but may include ads. Plus costs $20 per month and adds advanced reasoning, projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs. Our ChatGPT plans comparison explains each tier.

Claude is the pick for newsletters, landing pages and product descriptions that must sound like your brand. Per Anthropic’s pricing page, Claude Free includes web search, file creation, memory, up to 5 projects, and the Sonnet and Haiku models; Sonnet 5.5 arrived on 28 September 2026. Pro costs $20 per month, or $17 billed yearly, and adds Opus and Research. Claude does not generate images.

Choose it if you write copy every week: ChatGPT if you also want images, Claude if long-form tone matters more.

2. Canva: best for on-brand social posts and ad creatives

Canva’s pricing page lists up to 20 AI uses a month on the Free plan, one Brand Kit (three colors only) and “ad insights and AI ad creation”. Pro adds AI resize, translate and background removal, 5 Brand Kits, social scheduling, and up to 200 Premium AI uses a month. Because Canva loads prices in the browser, prices come from a tracker: PricingSaaS reported Canva cut Pro from $180 to $144 per year (about $12 per month) in the week to 14 September 2026; it shows Business at $20.83 (unit not stated on the tracker).

Canva AI 2.0 began rolling out as a research preview on 16 April 2026, starting with the first million users (Canva via Business Wire). It turns prompts into editable designs and connects to Slack, Notion and Gmail (IT Brief). Start with our Canva AI image guide.

Choose it if you need a steady flow of on-brand posts and ad images without design skills.

3. CapCut: best for short vertical video

CapCut combines captions, templates and AI video features in one editor for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. CapCut’s pricing page lists a Free plan and a paid Pro plan that includes the AI features; the Pro price varies by country, so check the page in your region. The Seedance 2.5 AI video model is also available inside CapCut, priced per second of generated video, so check the cost before making long clips. Our guide on how to make an AI commercial helps you plan a short ad.

Choose it if most of your marketing lives on short-form video and you want to start free.

4. Adobe Firefly: best for ad images you can use commercially

Firefly’s free tier gives daily generations across image, video and audio. Per Adobe’s Firefly plans page, Standard costs $9.99 per month for 2,000 credits, Pro $19.99 per month for 4,000, and Pro Plus $49.99 per month for 10,000. Adobe says output from its own Firefly models is safe for commercial use, because they are trained on licensed and public-domain content. Firefly also offers partner models such as GPT Image, Gemini with Nano Banana, and FLUX, but Adobe says you are responsible for judging whether their output suits your project. When legal safety matters most, stick to Adobe’s own models.

Choose it if you make product or ad images for clients and want the clearest answer on commercial use.

5. Google Pomelli: best free brand kit for small businesses

Pomelli, a Google Labs experiment, launched as a public beta on 28 October 2025. It reads your website to build a brand profile, then suggests campaigns and makes editable assets for social media, websites and ads (Google). On 19 May 2026 Google added the Pomelli Agent, which builds your “Business DNA” even from scratch, plus brand books and a website builder (Google). Google says you can currently use it at no charge, with several hundred image and video generations, though the caps may change (Google Labs Help). It’s open to adults 18+ in countries including the US, the UK and all EU member states, in English only (Google Labs Help). Pair it with our tips on using AI for social media.

Choose it if you run a small business with a website, a tight budget and no brand guidelines yet.

6. Meta Advantage+ and Muse: best for Facebook and Instagram ads

On 6 October 2026 Meta said Advantage+ creative video generation, which turns your still images into video, is generally available (Meta). The Meta AI business assistant helps plan, set up, optimize and measure campaigns in Ads Manager; Meta says it will soon let you change targeting and budgets by chatting with it. Meta says advertisers who adopt the assistant’s recommendations are typically seeing 5% more conversions at the same cost per conversion than those who don’t; it gives no method or sample size (Meta).

Muse for Small Business, announced 29 September 2026, connects to Instagram analytics, Facebook Pages and ad accounts, plus Shopify, Canva and Klaviyo. It is free with usage limits, and businesses can buy a subscription for more use (TechCrunch). Meta says it won’t post or buy anything without your approval (The Next Web). See how to make ads with AI.

Choose it if your customers are on Facebook and Instagram and you run ads there.

7. Google Ads AI Max: best for Search ads

AI Max adds three things to Search campaigns: broader search term matching, automatically customized headlines and descriptions, and sending people to a more relevant landing page (Google Ads Help). Google says advertisers who turn it on typically see 14% more conversions or conversion value at a similar cost, based on its own internal data (Google). From September 2026, Google began moving eligible campaigns that still use Dynamic Search Ads, automatically created assets or campaign-level broad match to AI Max automatically (Google). Check your settings so you know what changed.

Choose it if you already pay for Search ads and want AI to find new searches and write matching ad text.

8. HubSpot Marketing Hub: best for email and CRM in one place

HubSpot’s pricing page says the Free plan covers up to 2 users and 2,000 email sends a month with HubSpot branding. Starter “starts at $7/mo/seat” under a new-customer promotion (the page also shows $20 per seat), removes branding and includes 500 HubSpot Credits. Its Content Agent drafts blog posts, social content and landing pages in your brand voice (HubSpot), but HubSpot lists it only for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, and it uses HubSpot Credits (HubSpot). The next step is steep: Professional starts at $800 per month plus a one-time $3,000 onboarding fee.

Choose it if you want email, landing pages and a customer list in one place, starting free.

A starter stack under $50 a month

Start free with ChatGPT, Canva, CapCut, Pomelli and HubSpot. When you outgrow them, ChatGPT Plus ($20), Canva Pro (about $12 a month billed yearly) and CapCut Pro ($11) come to about $43 per month. Budget ad spend separately.

How to choose

  • Start with your most common job: writing, visuals, video or paid ads.
  • Try the free plan first. Most picks here have one.
  • Count usage limits, not just price. AI uses, credits and per-second video pricing add up.
  • Treat vendor numbers as claims. Track your own results.
  • Review everything before it goes out. AI drafts can get facts and prices wrong.

Disclosure rules and safety

  • Fake reviews: The FTC’s rule, announced 14 August 2024, bans fake reviews and testimonials, including AI-generated ones from people who don’t exist, with civil penalties for knowing violators (FTC).
  • EU: AI Act transparency rules have applied since August 2026, and deepfakes must be clearly labelled (European Commission).
  • Political ads: Meta requires disclosure of photorealistic AI or altered media in political, election and social-issue ads (Meta). Google election advertisers whose ads use synthetic or altered content that inauthentically shows real or realistic-looking people or events must tick the “Altered or synthetic content” box in campaign settings. Google adds a label automatically only for Feeds, Shorts and in-stream ads, so in other formats you must also add your own clear disclosure (Google).

Privacy: Don’t paste customer lists or emails into chatbots without checking your data settings. See Is ChatGPT safe?
