What each plan includes
| Plan | Longest video | Export | Watermark | Custom avatars | Stock avatars | Languages | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 minute | 720p share link | Yes | 1 | 500+ | 30+ | 1 |
| Creator | 30 minutes | Up to 1080p | Removable | 1+ | 700+ | 175+ | 1 |
| Pro | 30 minutes | Up to 4K | Removable | 1+ | 700+ | 175+ | 1 |

- Free: 3 videos a month per the pricing page, or 1 to 3 by region per the help center, with limited trial access to Avatar IV and Video Agent and one voice clone.
- Creator includes Avatar III and IV, Avatar V “with limited usage”, HeyGen Video 1, up to 10 hours of text to speech and up to 40 voice clones.
- Pro adds 4K export, Seedance video (Seedance 2.5 on the pricing page), Cinematic Avatars, Veo 3.1 and Nano Banana, 16+ hours of text to speech, faster processing and up to 70 voice clones.
- Business adds 60-minute videos, twice as many videos processing at once as Pro, a shared team workspace, single sign-on (SAML/SSO), an asset library and SCORM export for training platforms (LMS).
- Brand kit: HeyGen’s comparison table includes one on every paid plan from Creator up, so you do not need Business for it.
- Avatar IV length: HeyGen’s comparison table caps Avatar IV videos at 30 minutes on every paid plan, though the help center lists a longer Avatar IV limit for Business, so check in the app. Enterprise exports past 30 minutes may face restrictions, such as a file size limit.
- Avatar slots: 1 or 5 on Creator and Pro and 5 or 10 on Business, by region and account age. Extra slots cost $29 a month or $288 a year at standard rates, which can also vary.
Pro credit tiers
Pro comes in ten credit levels with the same features, and you can switch tiers at any time.
| Credits a month | Billed monthly | Billed yearly (per month) | Billed yearly (total) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $49 | $41 | $488 |
| 1,500 | $74 | $62 | $738 |
| 2,000 | $99 | $82 | $988 |
| 3,000 | $149 | $124 | $1,488 |
| 5,000 | $240 | $200 | $2,400 |
| 7,500 | $360 | $300 | $3,600 |
| 10,000 | $460 | $384 | $4,612 |
| 20,000 | $900 | $752 | $9,018 |
| 50,000 | $2,250 | $1,877 | $22,518 |
| 100,000 | $4,300 | $3,586 | $43,030 |
Per-month yearly figures are HeyGen’s rounded display; the yearly total is what you are charged. Pro with 3,000 credits costs the same $149 a month as Business with 1,500, so choose Business for team features, not credits.
How HeyGen credits work
Credits are HeyGen’s “single currency” for video and asset creation; Free uses a video quota instead. Some features charge per minute of finished video, others per generation. Rates can differ by region and account age, so the cost the app shows before you generate is what you pay.
| Feature | Standard credit rate |
|---|---|
| Avatar III, video look | 4 per minute |
| Avatar III, photo look | 7 per minute |
| Avatar IV, photo look | 16 per minute |
| Avatar IV, video look | 31 per minute |
| Avatar V | 48 per minute |
| Video translation, no lip sync | 4 per minute |
| Video translation, Speed / Precision | 6 / 10 per minute |
| Video Agent, standard / Seedance mode | 80 / 240 per minute |
| Generated image | From 2 per image (depends on the model) |
- Rollover: on monthly plans, unused credits carry over for one more cycle (up to about 60 days). On yearly plans they arrive monthly and pile up until renewal. If you cancel to Free, they expire.
- Running out: Creator and Pro have no one-time credit packs, so you move up to Pro or a higher Pro tier. Business buys 100 credits for $5 ($0.05 each) or turns on auto-reload.
- Upgrading mid-month: you pay the difference and get the extra credits at once. In HeyGen’s example, moving from Creator (bought 1 January) to Pro on 20 January costs $20 and adds 400 credits that day.
Worked examples
Simple division at HeyGen’s standard rates, not usage measurements:
- A mixed Creator month: a 10-minute Avatar IV video-look training video (310 credits), a Speed-mode translation of it (60) and 20 images (at least 40) use at least 410 credits, leaving at most 190.
- Pro (1,000 credits): about 32 minutes of Avatar IV with a video look or 21 minutes of Avatar V.
- Business (1,500 credits): about 48 minutes of Avatar IV with a video look, shared by the team; each extra $5 block adds about 3 minutes.
Which HeyGen plan should you buy?
Our editorial judgement, based on HeyGen’s published limits and prices:
- Free is for testing. The watermark and the 1-minute cap rule it out for publishing.
- Creator suits a solo creator or small business making a few short presenter videos a month at 1080p; Avatar IV with a video look for everything gives roughly 19 minutes a month (about 37 with a photo look).
- Pro is for 4K, Seedance, Veo 3.1, more Avatar V or more minutes: multiply your monthly minutes by the per-minute rate and pick the tier.
- Business is for teams that need a shared workspace, single sign-on, training-platform exports, 60-minute videos or mid-month top-ups.
- Enterprise is for custom terms, invoice billing or videos longer than 60 minutes.
For cinematic clips rather than a talking presenter, a general video generator is usually the better buy: see our best AI video generators and AI video generation pricing guides, or start with how to make AI videos.
HeyGen API pricing
The API runs on pay-as-you-go credits, separate from the plans, with no subscription needed. There have been no free API credits since February 2026, purchased credits expire after 12 months, and usage is billed by the second. Self-serve rates (help center, updated 28 October 2026):
| API feature | Price per minute |
|---|---|
| Avatar III, Digital Twin | $0.60 |
| Avatar III, Photo or Studio Avatar | $0.99 |
| Avatar IV, Photo Avatar | $2.31 |
| Avatar IV, Digital Twin or Studio Avatar | $4.83 |
| Avatar V, Digital Twin | $7.20 |
| Video Agent (prompt to video) | $5.82 |
| Video translation, audio only / Speed lip sync / Precision lip sync | $0.57 / $0.81 / $1.50 |
Cinematic Avatar Shots are priced per video instead of per minute: $7.30 at 720p and $17.67 at 1080p.
The API processes up to 10 videos at once (20 for Enterprise workspaces), and Avatar IV and V requested in 4K are rendered at 1080p and stretched. Any account, including Free, can buy API credits. Plan credits cannot be spent through the HubSpot, Clay, Zapier, Make or n8n integrations; those need an API key and API credits, even on Business.
Cancelling, pausing and refunds
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep paid features and credits until the cycle ends, then drop to Free. Videos stay saved; avatars beyond one are locked, not deleted.
- No pro-rata refunds for the rest of a cycle, including unused months on yearly plans.
- Pausing delays the next charge by 30 days, but your whole credit balance expires.
- Refunds: HeyGen’s terms say payments are non-refundable except where required by law. The help center allows requests within 15 days for web and Google Play purchases; HeyGen reviews purchases made directly with it case by case and may refuse if many credits were used. App Store refunds go through Apple, within 14 days.
HeyGen vs alternatives
The closest rival for presenter videos is Synthesia. Its pricing page lists a $0 Basic plan with 10 minutes of watermarked video a month, Starter at $19 a month after a $9 first month, and Pro at $89 a month after a $49 first month. Our Synthesia guide covers it in detail.

Use avatars and voices responsibly
HeyGen’s pricing page says an avatar of someone else needs “validated consent”. Only clone your own face and voice, or those of people who clearly agreed, and never use avatars for fake testimonials or to pass a video off as a real person speaking. Some platforms ask you to label AI content: YouTube, for example, requires creators to disclose realistic AI-generated or altered content.
